Thoughts from our Random week in Rome...
Dancing + bar hoping + cobblestone streets + dome climbing = really bad back. In our attempt to forget all our worries, Sally and I ventured out on a weekend long extravaganza of fun. Unfortunately it has left me with a bad back. Now, if I only knew how to say heating pad and motrin in Italian, I would be much better off...The top of the Vatican was great though (pictures will follow). I would LOVE to live in Vatican City (beautiful grounds, swiss guards, art...what's not to love??). We then spent the rest of the day in search of Mcdonalds (yes it's AMAZING here and it's not pizza, no judgement).
Throughout our travels thus far, Sally and I have come to the conclusion that if we could be any animal, a pigeon would shockingly be our pick. We discovered this one day while standing in the forum. Reasons why: a. pigeons have tons of friends. You rarely see a lone pigeon. b. Pigeons are in every major city in the world and can travel at their leisure. They also clearly have friends wherever they go. and c. They can cover a lot of ground in one day. Do you know how long it takes to walk from the Vatican to the Piazza Venezia....a looong time!
Question of the week: If you could throw it all away and turn one of your hobbies or passions into a job, regardless of money, time, location, etc, what would you be? My current answer is private, high end tour guide. Other answers I have received so far range from bum (thank you Rachel), professional con artist, and full time tv watcher...I have such eclectic friends haha. We are still perfecting Sally's. What would yours be???
Also, if anyone was wondering, Disney Princesses on Ice is playing here in Rome starting next week...Sally and I may have to check this out. Which princess would you be?? (Belle, duh, gets to party with French furniture and accouterments who all turn out to be her best friends, oh and she gets the prince in the end, SPOILER ALERT).
Obviously we have had a thought provoking weekend....
Best, Lauren
